Portal 2: Community Edition is a mod for
Portal 2 developed using licensed code from Valve, that aims to make useful tweaks and additions to the game for mappers and modders. It's designed to be used as a base for custom maps and other Portal 2 mods, though it will also include its own campaign to show off some of the new features.
The project has entered the open beta state on April 17th 2026, as the game should be possible to navigate by players without any prior modding knowledge.
