Half-Life and other games using its engine aka
GoldSrc (e.g.
Counter-Strike).
Half-Life: Alyx and other games using
Source 2 (e.g.
Dota 2)
Half-Life SDK should be used for GoldSource games such as Half-Life. It includes an old version of Hammer editor, 3.4, which should be updated to 3.5 manually, or use alternatives such as J.A.C.K..
Source 2 games should use their own Workshop Tools (Counter-Strike 2 Workshop Tools for Counter-Strike 2, Half-Life: Alyx Workshop Tools for Half-Life: Alyx, etc...). These ships with Hammer 5.x.
