Directly supported games

The Source SDK supports editing for the following games directly:

Note.pngNote:Half-Life: Source requires you to manually add a new entry to gameconfig.txt and manually configuring Hammer.
Note.pngNote:All games above now ships with Source SDKs by default, so Source SDK (211) is no longer required to be installed (and it was incompatible with Source 2013 games anywaty). However, SDK sample content for these games are only available when you install Source SDK (and they are located at 🖿SourceSDK\sourcesdk_content and 🖿sourcesdk_content inside 🖿SourceSDK\vpks\depot_211_dir.vpk).

The following games have their own Source SDKs or Authoring Tools:

User-supported

Unsupported games

The Source SDK does not support editing for the following games:

Half-Life SDK should be used for GoldSource games such as Half-Life. It includes an old version of Hammer editor, 3.4, which should be updated to 3.5 manually, or use alternatives such as J.A.C.K. J.A.C.K..

Source 2 games should use their own Workshop Tools (Counter-Strike 2 Workshop Tools for Counter-Strike 2, Half-Life: Alyx Workshop Tools for Half-Life: Alyx, etc...). These ships with Hammer 5.x.

Note.pngNote:Half-Life and other GoldSrc games can utilize some features of the Source version of Hammer 4.x world editor, though this is unsupported.
