Counter-Strike Nexon (formerly Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies and Counter-Strike Nexon: Studio) is the worldwide version of Counter-Strike Online, published by Nexon Europe, featuring the same restricted Console commands, microtransactions, weapons, skins (such as playermodels), gamemodes and other stuff. It is currently developed and published by Nexon Korea. The game is free-to-play.
Overview
Unlike Counter-Strike Online, it is available to download on Steam in many countries, including some of those that previously have their localized version of Counter-Strike Online prior to it's server shutdown for these affected countries, and Counter-Strike Nexon, unlike CSO, requires Steam running to play the game. The game has receiving mixed reviews due to the company's business practices, as well the game's content and skins, models, etc... that appeals to more East Asian demographics.
The server for this game is currently active, and receive content updates from Counter-Strike Online with some slight modifications.
Shutdown in 2026
Counter-Strike Nexon will be shutting down on September 30, 2026, likely due to declining playerbase (less than 1,000 players). Sales of all in-game paid items and DLC has ended in June 25.[1][2]
