So as the one who created this page I personally believe alien swarm deferred is a thirdparty branch not a mod. As well it just simply ands alot more than a regular mod would as its deferred lighting implementation is quite unique among source engine branches or mods. As even {{strata|4}} doesn't have support for deferred lighting. And well Alien swarm deferred is also meant to be used as a modbase like {{mapbase|4}}. But while mapbase can be quite hard to differentiate from regular source 2013, alien swarm deferred can be immediaetly differentiated from regular alien swarm. And also I don't think alien swarm deferred should be in the "branch-navbox" template but the template should definietly be on its page.

This is a similar case to Mapbase Mapbase. This mod only modifies the game's mod code, not the base engine code. No developer can legally publish engine code as it is locked behind NDA with Valve. Yes, Valve provides the Source code for Alien Swarm, but they do not provide the actual engine code. See Template Talk:branch-navbox. --Equalizer5118 (talk) 18:24, 16 Jan 2024 (UTC)

Is Alien Swarm Deferred Alien Swarm Deferred a source engine branch?

(using Template:Message) So when the Mapbase Mapbase issue, was brought up on the "branch-navbox" template it questioned Alien Swarm Deferred Alien Swarm Deferred's legitimacy as a Source engine branch. So as the one who created this page I personally believe alien swarm deferred is a thirdparty branch not a mod. As well it just simply ands alot more than a regular mod would as its deferred lighting implementation is quite unique among source engine branches or mods. As even Strata Source Strata Source doesn't have support for deferred lighting. And well Alien swarm deferred is also meant to be used as a modbase like Mapbase Mapbase. But while mapbase can be quite hard to differentiate from regular source 2013, alien swarm deferred can be immediaetly differentiated from regular alien swarm. And also I don't think alien swarm deferred should be in the "branch-navbox" template but the template should definietly be on its page. --Toligon (talk) 18:36, 16 Jan 2024 (UTC)
