The Cry of Fear engine branch Cry of Fear engine branch is a modified, third-party branch of the GoldSrc GoldSrc engine based on it's pre-SteamPipe version, specifically the Paranoia Paranoia branch[1].

Features & Specifications

  • Engine
    • Utilizes OpenGL for visual enhancements such as bump-mapping, reflections, detailed textures, parallax-mapping for models and brushes, 3D graphics and skyboxes, local dynamic lights, specular mapping, and HDRL (High Dynamic Range Light Maps) support.
    • Unlike Paranoia, it supports multiplayer.


Cry of Fear engine branch is based on Paranoia's engine branch. Therefore, much of the documentation on this wiki pertaining to Paranoia may also apply to Cry of Fear engine branch.
