除了精心制作的 Tour of Duty 游戏模式，无数大大小小的战斗、变化和新鲜内容让享誉世界的反恐精英多人游戏更加地丰富多彩，更有 12 个额外单人关卡，反恐精英：零点行动绝对是单人和多人游戏中的扛鼎之作。
反恐精英：零点行动除了原有的多人模式，新增了一个任务模式。以及模型与部分地图的更新和机器人支持。
零点行动官方地图所使用的前缀：de_（爆破模式）、cs_（人质解救）；和后缀_zc
零点行动最初是由 Rogue Software 开发的，由于其内部问题导致 Rogue 关闭，零点行动的开发也被迫中止。之后由 Gearbox Software 接手。 Gearbox 版被广泛宣传，但在多次延期后 Valve 最终将这个任务交给 Ritual Software，但 Ritual 的尝试最终并未让 Valve 满意。最终 Turtle Rock Studios 与 Valve 共同完成了零点行动，而 Ritual 所制作的战役在经过打磨后成为零点行动 关卡模式。
