Categories are not for language subpages

(using Template:Message)  Categories should be on the base page (see the example), not on its language subpage.  --THE OWL (talk) 10:38, 11 Apr 2023 (UTC)

(using Template:Message)  Both work AFAIK...  --Lxm6 (talk) 10:41, 11 Apr 2023 (UTC)

(using Template:Message)  Categories on language subpages do not add the base page to these categories. Moreover, when you use categories for navigation, what do you want to see after clicking on the link? Language subpages or base pages?  --THE OWL (talk) 11:00, 11 Apr 2023 (UTC)

(using Template:Message)  But how will translations get translated categories if they are only on the main pages?  --Lxm6 (talk) 10:54, 12 Apr 2023 (UTC)

(using Template:Message)  I'm in agreement with Lxm6 here. What even is the point of this rule if people aren't going to be able to look up categories in their own native language?  --Amicdict (talk) {{{time}}} (UTC)

(using Template:Message)  The only workaround so far for translated categories is to use {{autolang}} alongside {{uselangflags}}. {{MultiPage}} currently doesn't work correctly as it's ended up creating subcategories page.  --Kr0tchet (talk) 9:49, 13 May 2023 (UTC)

(using Template:Message)  Fixed. The problem was in the way of creating links to pages.  --THE OWL (talk) 11:48, 13 May 2023 (UTC)

(using Template:Message)  I would like to note that there will be no more translated categories as independent categories. You should create an English category and use {{MultiPage}} on it.  --THE OWL (talk) 11:48, 13 May 2023 (UTC)

Redirects are cheap

(using Template:Message)  Don't move pages just because they're "easier to link"; that is what redirects are for. It is preferable for a page name to be what is actually displayed to the end user, as this avoids confusion and inconsistency.  --SirYodaJedi (talk) 2:19, 15 Jun 2023 (UTC)

(using Template:Message)  1. I don't remove redirects during moves. So this doesn't make sense.
2. They trim names aggressively 2 and even introduce wrong names 3 which I don't agree with.
3. English Wikipedia and others refer to it as Apex Legends and not as Apex.

(using Template:Message)

  1. Moving still can create double redirects, which does break stuff.
  2. Really, the Template:Windows7 should be Template:Win7.
  3. Template names are supposed to be short, so that they are easier to type; this is why it's Template:Hl and not Template:Half-Life. We don't need a Template:Apex Legends that is different from Template:Apex. This is the same reason why template names are (usually) lowercase.

(using Template:Message)  What do you mean?

Use without alteration in text to refer to Microsoft and its products and services. Don’t alter, animate, distort, or misappropriate Microsoft’s Brand Assets, for example, by combining Microsoft’s Brand Assets with other terms, misspellings, or incorporating them into a tagline or slogan, etc.
