RTX Remix
RTX Remix is a technology developed by 
Nvidia, designed to introduce real-time ray tracing and advanced graphical enhancements to classic video games. This technology has the potential to be integrated with 
Valve's gaming ecosystem, allowing modders and developers to update older titles with cutting-edge visual effects. By leveraging RTX Remix, classic games available on Valve's platform could undergo a renaissance, offering players modernized visuals while preserving the original gameplay experience.
Incorporating RTX Remix capabilities enables the replacement of textures and models using 
Universal Scene Description and Scene Capture, in addition to introducing features such as PBR, real-time ray-tracing (and bounced lighting), and ray-traced reflections. Presently, the utilization of RTX Remix necessitates an NVIDIA graphics card for mod creation. Although support for Radeon graphics cards remains unconfirmed, players can still experience RTX Remix mods, albeit without the ability to create them, and have lower performance compared to NVIDIA graphics card. It is improbable that Radeon graphics cards will be supported in the future.
Warning:It is not known how 
VAC may react to RTX Remix, to be safe remember to always put -Insecure in your launch parameters, this means sadly you can't play on VAC secured servers while using RTX remix in games like 
Team Fortress 2 and 
Day of Defeat: Source, however any non-VAC secured servers are likely to work fine.
Note:
Source Engine is one of the best engines for use with RTX Remix due to its accessibility and documentation. [Clarify] However its recommended you download source tools like 
VPKEdit and 
Crowbar and a texture editor like 
GIMP as Valve engines using proprietary formats. For more tools that may help with your project see Category:Third Party Tools.Note:RTX Remix only works with Direct3D 8 and 9 games with fixed function pipeline (or running on DirectX 7.0 - 8.1 hardware level (dxlevel 70-81) in Source). This meant that all games starting with Left 4 Dead engine branch onwards or games that utilizes shaders, by default, will not work with RTX Remix without reimplementing the fixed-function pipeline (see Left 4 Dead 2 RTX Remix and Portal 2 RTX Remix).Availability
