The Xbox One is a home video game console developed by Microsoft. Announced in May 2013, it is the successor to Xbox 360 and the third console in the Xbox series. The console mainly competed against Sony's PlayStation 4 and Nintendo's  Wii U, then later the Switch. Microsoft later release new model, Xbox One S and Xbox One X in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

The console is infamous for it's E3 2013 presentation, with the presentation showing off entertainment and TV rather than games, $499 pricing with the initially required Kinect motion controller, it's restrictive DRM such as requiring internet connection every 24 hours, all purchased games are tied to Microsoft account, etc.... Beside, there was also some technical issues with some games during the presentation. Microsoft was getting negative reactions from consumers to the point that later the next month, Microsoft reversed the decisions, but despite that, the Xbox One was one of the worst selling console of the 8th generation, aside from Wii U.
