Not to be confused with Workshop Tools (the Source 2 counterpart).

Authoring Tools are a set of tools that were released with Source games later on in the engines life. Serving as a replacement for the universal Source SDK.

These include tools such as Hammer, Half-Life Model Viewer and Faceposer.
