About my edit on the displacement page

Ay bro,check the date. --Equalizer5118 (talk) 15:35, 1 Apr 2024 lmao --strubium (talk) 10:36, 8 Apr 2024

Just a thought.

Hello. It would be beneficial to include a {{software page}} on the game pages, as it offers greater functionality. Additionally, specifying {{needs software page}} on mod pages is advisable. I've observed that you apply {{Infotable}} approach on mod pages, which is commendable. However, it would be preferable to utilize software page templates on these pages, as the infotable will be removed when a software page is added. This template is more appropriate for games ({{software page}} than {{infotable}}. --NOUG4AT (talk) 14:20, 11 Apr 2024 Ok, I can definitely do that --strubium (talk) 9:22, 11 Apr 2024

Template point.

I understand your intent to standardize mod pages, particularly by templating them in a consistent manner when a mod icon is absent. However, I question the necessity of this. Adding such details seems superfluous, as they do not notably enhance visibility. Furthermore, using the Half-Life 2 (HL2) icon could lead to confusion. I've frequently observed the notation {{hl2}} adjacent to mod names on older pages. While this practice is peculiar, you've opted to make it standard. I argue that employing a same template for mods without specific icons is redundant. It introduces unnecessary formatting that fails to offer any real improvement. Moreover, you're implementing this on mod pages that might already possess unique icons. In my opinion, these additional steps are needless and only serve to overcomplicate the page structure. We could simply highlight the mod title using bold text (<b>), and, the outcome would remain largely the same.
Is your idea to make this a kind of optimization instead of creating icons for unknown mods? You know, I think. That this is probably correct, but only then, you need to make sure that in the template you can change the color of the text. And so that it doesn't have an icon. I believe that such a change will not be superfluous and make template more universal. For example, for GoldSrc and Src mods, we can only use your template.
Right now I was thinking about maybe doing something like a workaround, for example, a separate icon (hl2 but the word mod at the bottom) and a slightly different color. However, what's the point? You can do without icons for any mods, and having icons for mods is not a problem for anyone. Otherwise, just a bold underline solves everything, I’m just expressing what I think. You have the right to cancel my changes and reject proposals, but I am still convinced that this is unnecessary.
Okay, I canceled my changes. In the wiki consensus for deletion, not one party participates, but several... so I just added todo in template for the purpose of making this more universal. --NOUG4AT (talk) 17:45, 15 Apr 2024 NOUG4AT | time = 18:18, 15 Apr 2024 | 1 = Yes, it is, but this is also not accurate, because mods most often use some kind of source branch, and not hl2. Okay, do as you want, the template can exist, then a more universal approach should be implemented. }} --strubium (talk) 12:48, 15 Apr 2024

Strange actions

Can you explain to me what reasons there are to maintain your fork on this wiki at the moment. When is development going on? Firstly, there are no particular influential advances. Don't mind keeping it, but it looks raw to keep here right now.

(using Template:Message) Well, I guess my goal is to make map editing with QtPyHammer as functional as Hammer, but I'm working on it in my free time so not much has been done. EventuallyTM there will be advances, but there's not a lot to display right now. The page is definitely very raw though. --Strubium (talk) 1:58, 24 Apr 2024 (UTC) --NOUG4AT (talk) 7:58, 24 Apr 2024

Fork ideas.

Hey, I recently used your fork, what you are planning and already implementing looks really interesting. I also saw that you have several branches on Github, are you planning to merge them? It would also be nice for you to rework the design and name a little later, and if you implement a multi-language system, I will be ready to suggest my changes in russian.
I also recently saw your work with tables, thanks for that, by the way, I improved your table a little and created it in another place, I hope you don’t mind. Yeah, planning to merge them once they each work. (Compile window + Lang select is gonna some sort of "Properties" window to work) I'm 100% down for any translations suggested by people. I'll let you know when the lang system works!
Yes, the table of pain and agony, I don't mind at all. I'll keep working on it where you put it. Thank you! --Strubium (talk) 1:58, 24 Apr 2024 --NOUG4AT (talk) 18:58, 30 Apr 2024
