Reason for move

This template is being used for much more than just entity tabs now, as it is now used on articles that have no relation to entities, but do have differences between engines. I recommend we move this to either {{Tabs}} or {{EngineTabs}}. --Equalizer5118 (talk) 18:06, 18 Jan 2024

I agree, I suggest moving this template as its use has been expanded beyond entities. I will also be ready to assist in replacing all lines. --NOUG4AT (talk) 18:19, 18 Jan 2024

Page has been moved, now the fun of changing every page to use the new name begins --Equalizer5118 (talk) 20:27, 18 Jan 2024

Fine. I'll do it through a bot tomorrow, if you want you can replace what you know, I'd prefer to save your time and tomorrow I'll implement everything automatically :) --NOUG4AT (talk) 20:30, 18 Jan 2024

What's with the new look?

It's a lot less apparent that these are clickable tabs, they take up more space, and they don't even look like links unless you hover over them.

They didn't need an overhaul. It was already what it needed to be. Cvoxalury (talk) 18:23, 22 June 2024 (PDT)
What we ate was disgusting. Although, I don't deny, even those tabs could have been made prettier, but I liked this version better.
Now these links are easier to click on your phone, and the line underneath them emphasizes what they actually are. It's the familiar tabbed look everyone is used to (one of them), I don't know what's obscure about it.
Well, and I'm bringing back the original color to the links.

I'll change this template some more later. I don't like the way it works right now. Also, it's still small buttons on phones because of some CSS settings applied during the design update. I'll solve that too as soon as I get access to a computer (in the next couple days or weekss).

I don't see how they're any better on the phone now. But I do see that the block didn't teach you anything. You just can't stop meddling with things that work, can you? Cvoxalury (talk) 01:17, 23 June 2024 (PDT)
I've undone the change, now tabs look like tabs, which is better on phones and desktop alike (not that VDC has a dedicated mobile design, this is all crutches anyway). Do not undo this, because that'll be considered edit warring. No "much prettier", no "I'll fix this later", we've been through this rigamarole. Cvoxalury (talk) 01:31, 23 June 2024 (PDT)
You can't move on from the past. The same tabs are used on Wikipedia, and you're still not happy. This is my template (literally, it's my idea and my code, continued by other people) and you have no right to cancel it without a clear explanation (your undo eventually led to smaller buttons. Thank you). I know it's owned by the wiki, making a template for everyone, but you're replacing one of my ideas with another of my raw ideas, which is really weird 😮‍💨
I will completely update the template as soon as I get access to a computer. I'm not saying the update will have the design you canceled, but the visuals and functionality will have to change. This is one of those ideas that I haven't finalized and I will change it soon.
Oh yeah, I'm supposed to not edit anything now just because someone like you is here? That's genius.

"This is my template (literally, it's my idea and my code, continued by other people) and you have no right to cancel it without a clear explanation" Out of everything I read, I do take issue with this. This implies you are the only one who is authorized to make changes that you see fit. However, as with anything on the wiki, you may start a new page, template, etc. but you don't own it. It belongs to the community or wikiers as I like to call it. Wikipedia is Wikipedia, the VDC is the VDC. The traffic is not the same, and the VDC doesn't necessarily have to be Wikipedia. I understand that you want to improve the website, but when your edits impact the wiki at a large scale, moreso, when the edits are incomplete, it creates tension among others. You need to talk about it with other wikiers first to prevent heated discussions from happening. "Oh yeah, I'm supposed to not edit anything now just because someone like you is here? That's genius." this comment could have been avoided. I'm asking that remain polite when interacting with other wikiers. Thanks! --Peter Brev (talk) 08:14, 23 June 2024 (PDT)

I recently blocked THE OWL for 7 days a tad too quickly. I seem to have jumped the gun. I apologize and removed the block. Please let me know if you need anything else.Peter Brev (talk) 22:19, 23 June 2024 (PDT)

sharp corner

Not sure what's going on but why do the tabs have top left corner sharp and the right rounded suddenly ? There were no changes to this template and I see it both here and on my phone too like that Nescius (talk) 17:52, 2 August 2024 (PDT)

Ok it seems my 3 edits 2 weeks ago added 2 accidental curly brakcets and that diff preview looks extremely misleading. I don't understand how would I not notice the sharp corner for that long. I am seeing those tabs like every day Nescius (talk) 18:21, 2 August 2024 (PDT)
