Perhaps we need to include a ZHLT section with the other 2 compile programs of his? -Zevensoft

Dont worry about ZHLT - these tools dont work with source, and are well known with 95% of Half Life Devs - Also i only worked on ZHLT 3.0 - and am not zoner, merl, or cagey - who most of the credit should be pointing to -amckern

Porting to Linux

What is Zoners position on a Linux port of his tool suite? Or a better question might be, how would Zoner and team feel about someone porting the tools? -SavannahLion

  • I am open to any one that has the time porting ZHLT to linux, and thats the main reason why i provide the source code on updates --Amckern 07:59, 28 May 2006 (PDT)

Why is it different from the std tools?

What makes this stand out from the current default tools? --Holtt 19:39, 5 Jun 2006 (PDT)

It's Amckernified, so it is optimized (TAKES LESS TIME)—ts2do 20:03, 5 Jun 2006 (PDT)
I think Holtt raises a valid point that needs a more precise answer. Even the changelog included with the tools (which I just downloaded since I couldn't find any better info on his website) is incredibly vague. I added it to the page since it's better than nothing.
I also removed the reference to ZHLT, since that is potentially misleading, now that development has ceased on these tools. ("Like ZHLT" implies to me "many more features than the standard compile tools", whereas the case here is "fewer features" now.) --Giles 00:41, 6 Jun 2006 (PDT)
CST is faster, optimised code, that adds features that where missing from the original code, such as leek, and leaf saw vectors. The tools are still getting worked on, so PLEASE stop saying that they are not. --Amckern 00:55, 9 Jun 2006 (PDT)
