About this page and the Xbox Series X/S game console

The Xbox Series X/S Xbox Series X and Xbox Series X/S Xbox Series S are the fourth generation consoles in the Xbox series. Released on November 10, 2020, the higher-end Xbox Series X and lower-end Xbox Series S are part of the ninth generation of video game consoles, which also includes Sony's PlayStation 5 PlayStation 5, released the same month. They superseded the Xbox One.

Upcoming revisions

Unrelated court documents from the 2022 Wikipedia icon FTC case against Microsoft includes plans for mid-generation console refreshes planned in 2024. The updated Xbox Series X (codenamed "Brooklin") would feature a cylindrical design that draws less power, 2TB of internal storage and improved Wi-Fi. The Series S redesign, codenamed "Ellewood", would retain the same design, reduced power, and 1 TB of storage. Both console refreshes are to ship with a new Xbox controller.
