Category:Games on non-Valve engines using Valve IP
This page lists games based on Valve's intellectual property which don't run on Valve-developed engines ( GoldSrc, Source, and Source 2). Mods are also listed if they are substantial enough to be considered their own game.
Important:This list category does not include games that run on third-party forks of Valve-developed engines (ex: Portal: Revolution runs on Strata Source, a fork of the CS:GO engine branch of Source, and therefore is not included).
Games based on Valve IP
These games are directly based on Valve properties, and have the properties as their main focus.
Note:Such games should only be given their own VDC wiki page if:
- They were developed by Valve (ex: The Lab).
- They were developed by a studio which was later acquired by Valve (ex: Quake Team Fortress or Defense of the Ancients).
- They were developed by a second- or third-party who licensed Valve's properties (ex: Codename: Gordon or Counter-Strike Neo: White Memories).
- They have technical details relevant to Valve's engines (ex: Codename: Loop or FreeCS).
- This includes such games which run on id Tech 2, id Tech 3, id Tech 4, or a source port thereof (ex: FortressOne), as those engines are closely related to Valve's engines.
- Quake Team Fortress (, later acquired by Valve and remastered on GoldSrc as Team Fortress Classic)
- FortressOne (, fork of Quake Team Fortress)
- Defense of the Ancients ( Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne mod)
- CS2D ( BlitzMax)
- Counter-Strike Neo: White Memories ()
- Codename: Gordon ()
- The Lab (, except Robot Repair, which uses Source 2)
- Codename: Loop (, supports GoldSrc file formats)
- Portal: The Flash Version (, some levels were later recreated in Portal: Still Alive)
- FreeCS (, clean-room reverse-engineered port of Counter-Strike 1.5)
- FreeHL (, clean-room reverse-engineered port of Half-Life)
Other games containing Valve IP

Note:Such games should only be given their own VDC wiki page if they have technical details relevant to Valve's engines.
- Audiosurf ( Quest3D)
- Lego Dimensions ( Nu2, includes two levels and a hub based on Aperture Science, as well as Chell as a playable character. Also has a brief cameo appearance of the Black Mesa insignia in a cutscene.)
