Template:Note
If the border is removed...it may be harder to tell when a note ends—ts2do 23:50, 30 Mar 2006 (PST)
- Maybe add a slight indent then. Jupix 00:04, 31 Mar 2006 (PST)
- This is true, I didn't take it into consideration. However, most notes are short and they don't need the complete width of a page, making the border look ridiculous.
- Maybe we can make the complete note italic ? I think it's correct use of italic formation because a note is more important than other things. --Vaarscha 00:05, 31 Mar 2006 (PST)
- But is it really more important? After all, it's just a note - an appendix to another paragraph, appendix which tells the reader something about the subject matter, something that doesn't deserve an equal looking paragraph of its own (although most notes would).
- Simply put, I'd consider italic for template:warning but not for notes. Just my $0.02. Jupix 03:10, 31 Mar 2006 (PST)
- I'm fine the way it is. I was just doing my post at the same time you did yours, but you did submit it before me. I decided to put my stuff up anyway. However, I think I have to disagree with your definition of a note. A note shouldn't go into an equal paragraph because it's meant to caught the eye of the reader. A note should be something important, a common mistake, etc. It's highlighted so people notice it, even if they are only briefly reading the article. --Vaarscha 04:07, 31 Mar 2006 (PST)
- Well, definition of note aside, I think they won't go unnoticed :) Jupix 04:43, 31 Mar 2006 (PST)

Why did you change something that wasn't broken? Blue? Framed?? Red??? Everytime someone writes "Note:" as a side note, like "Note that you can also use a npc_headcrab as a handy floatation device.", someone will come along and change it to this template, and has also done this in the past, and all of a sudden it now becomes the most important thing on the page:

If you want an important note, why not create an "important" template instead? If you keep it, we'll have to check all the pages using this template, and write "Note:" instead of the template, fully knowing that someone will come along and template it again. --Andreasen 13:17, 31 Mar 2006 (PST)
- 1. I changed the blue because it looked like a link you could click, which was confusing.
- 2. It wasn't a sidenote before we changed it. Frame + blue did already show that it was important. We didn't change the meaning of the note, only the graphical implementation. --Vaarscha 05:37, 1 Apr 2006 (PST)
- Just a week ago it was black without a frame and used as a sidenote, and didn't show any importance, so the meaning of the note was changed before you changed it. It wasn't ment to be important. It just got screwed up. --Andreasen 12:38, 1 Apr 2006 (PST)
