Some of these shouldn't even be considered an engine branch
When you say "engine branch" you mean the engine source code's been modified but NS1, Paranoia, SoHL, Trinity all had their source code released and they don't look like source code for GoldSrc at all but rather HLSDK code.
Paranoia does have an OpenGL wrapper but from what I can see that's just for bumpmaps. While CoF didn't have source code released it looks to be using regular Steam engine branch from 2009/2013.
If anyone has any objections, I'll be editing pages to remove mentions of said games/SDKs being called as "engine branches" --mv (talk) 09:37, 21 March 2024 (PDT)
I can't agree. COF uses the renderer of Paranoia, as well as some entities (which were in paranoia, are also in cof), and it is unique entities (which first appeared in paranoia); Regarding branches, this is inaccurate. Rather, this is the HLSDK forks. So I would like to know more what others think about it. For reference about relation of cof/paranoiaTalk:Cry_of_Fear
