Being a <nowiki>/b/</nowiki> (No, I'm not going to link to <nowiki>4chan/b/</nowiki> from here.) mod, this mod also takes a stab at racism. (One level is called "bixnood" which is a part of a long quote of someone interpreting a black man speaking, meaning that black men has their own stupidsounding black-speech.) As it's done simply "for the lulz", it's obviously not intended as hate preaching. Also, and as Half-life 2 itself is also rated [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entertainment_Software_Rating_Board M for Mature], anything short of fullblown pornography or gorefests should be allowed in a mod without it even having to be ''considered'' for a higher rating. Other countries may have other ratings, but as HL2 features prolonged violence and killing, one can expect the intended audience to be able to cope with brief references to sex, sexual deviations and racism. --[[User:Andreasen|Andreasen]] 04:56, 21 Oct 2007 (PDT)

Revision as of 11:46, 21 October 2007

This mod uses a sexual term ("Yiff" which means fuck and in some context sex.) >.> Is this allowed? (Please note that googling the word will bring you furry porn..) It also seems to discriminate against people of the furry fandom, so once again Is this allowed? --Frostbite 04:07, 17 Oct 2007 (PDT)

Where the yiff do you see a discrimination here? I don't really agree with this, as this is a mod, and doesn't contain extremely offensive stuff (heck, half of the internets don't know what yiff means)... --Baliame 07:06, 17 Oct 2007 (PDT)
Alright just checking. --Frostbite 15:25, 17 Oct 2007 (PDT)
According to this page it's apparently not just a sexual term - far from. Being a /b/ (No, I'm not going to link to 4chan/b/ from here.) mod, this mod also takes a stab at racism. (One level is called "bixnood" which is a part of a long quote of someone interpreting a black man speaking, meaning that black men has their own stupidsounding black-speech.) As it's done simply "for the lulz", it's obviously not intended as hate preaching. Also, and as Half-life 2 itself is also rated M for Mature, anything short of fullblown pornography or gorefests should be allowed in a mod without it even having to be considered for a higher rating. Other countries may have other ratings, but as HL2 features prolonged violence and killing, one can expect the intended audience to be able to cope with brief references to sex, sexual deviations and racism. --Andreasen 04:56, 21 Oct 2007 (PDT)
I realize there's other meanings for the word "Yiff". But the way it's being used makes it a Sexual Term. --Frostbite 11:46, 21 Oct 2007 (PDT)
