Is this mod allowed?
This mod uses a sexual term ("Yiff" which means fuck and in some context sex.) >.> Is this allowed? (Please note that googling the word will bring you furry porn..) It also seems to discriminate against people of the furry fandom, so once again Is this allowed? --Frostbite 04:07, 17 Oct 2007 (PDT)

- According to this page it's apparently not just a sexual term - far from. Being a /b/ (No, I'm not going to link to 4chan/b/ from here.) mod, this mod also takes a stab at racism. (One level is called "bixnood" which is a part of a long quote of someone interpreting a black man speaking, meaning that black men has their own stupidsounding black-speech.) As it's done simply "for the lulz", it's obviously not intended as hate preaching. Also, and as Half-life 2 itself is also rated M for Mature, anything short of fullblown pornography or gorefests should be allowed in a mod without it even having to be considered for a higher rating. Other countries may have other ratings, but as HL2 features prolonged violence and killing, one can expect the intended audience to be able to cope with brief references to sex, sexual deviations and racism. --Andreasen 04:56, 21 Oct 2007 (PDT)

- Oh. Innocent me thought they went around just yelling "Yiff!" at first. Well, first of all: Don't take the things in this mod seriously. /b/ never was about taking anything seriously, whether is would be Hitler or gore or the goatsex man. It's all just "for the lulz" - it's one big troll parody.
- Second of all, the discriminating furry stereotype isn't about going around raping people, and it probably never will be either, so this mod can't be said to inforce that stereotype either, and as long as the furry side will get an equal opportunity to get even and defend themselves on even terms, this isn't exactly persecution either. Instead the mod can be seen as a chance for the furries to get even with their persecutors, so they might as well be "persecuting" the other side.
- As for it being appropriate content, if it's prolonged depictions of nonconsentual rape, or just dryhumping somebodys leg, remains to be seen, but I'd prefer being forcefully "yiffed" to being killed (as in CS) any day, so I don't think it's going to be a problem.

Dead Mod

- This mod is not dead. Just because it isn't being developed n e more, it isn't dead. Dead means unreleased/dropped development before release. --Craziestdan 20:02, 5 Oct 2008 (PDT)
- I marked it dead due large portions of the mod's website having already 404'd and the ModDB profile not having been updated for almost 6 months. I know there was a "release", but it looked (to me) to be a joke between a few regulars of a certain website. It was the template multiplayer mod you get after using the "Create a Mod" option from the Source SDK and compile the code with 2 or 3 variable adjustments. The only "new" content was a few test maps and some replacement sounds and skins for some of the weapons, everything else was the SDK defaults. I'm fairly certain there will not be any further updates as the mod author listed it as inactive.--brandished 17:21, 5 Oct 2008 (PDT)
