Usage

This template is used in tandem with {{Cite}} and {{References}} to mimic citation.

Parameters

Parameter Description
{{{cite id}}} The id should match the cite number from the {{cite}} template. If {{cite}} uses "1" then {{{cite id}}} should also be "1".
{{{last}}} The author's surname or last name. Don't use with the author parameter.
{{{first}}} The author's first or given name(s).
{{{author}}} The name of the publisher. Omit terms such as Publishers, Co., Inc., Ltd., etc., but retain the words Books or Press. If specified, overrides both {{{last}}} and {{{first}}}.
{{{date}}} Date of referenced source. Can be full date (day, month, and year) or partial date (month and year, season and year, or year).
Wiki Note:Please enter dates in the format: day month name, year (e.g. 31 July, 2025) if possible.
{{{title}}} Title of the work. Mandatory for web references. Make sure to use proper formatting for what type of work (books/websites/journals use italics, articles/short works use Quotes.). If you are unsure what to use, refer to these articles on italics and quotation marks.
{{{url}}} The full URL of the citation. Must include https:// at the beginning to work properly.
{{{website}}}/{{{work}}} Name of the work or website containing the source; may be wikilinked if relevant
{{{location}}} If this work was published in a specific town or state, usually for books or newspapers, use this to specify the location
{{{publisher}}} Name of publisher; may be wikilinked if relevant.
{{{url-status}}} Current link status, if its a dead link, or is it still active. Current parameters are: dead, live, and deviated.
{{{archive-url}}} The URL of an archived snapshot of a web page. Typically used to refer to services such as Internet Archive and archive.today. For archivers, it is highly recommended to archive a web page in both archiver services, in case one of them was shutdown or the URLs gets excluded by the services.
{{{archive-date}}} Archive service snapshot date
{{{access-date}}} The date when the editors recently visited the cited website.
