In the early days, Breadman propelled production by building the game's maps chronologically relative to the drafted story. The team complimented map creation by providing their own input, assets and features. 1upD and Blixibon worked on new code and features for the game. Trivvy and CW3D provided their voices as they acted for the various characters in the game. The Entropy : Zero 2 team have continued to publish updates to the game since it's release. Most of these updates have been worked in the absence of Breadman who has been busy working solo on a new commercial project.

Entropy : Zero 2 entered development in February 2018. The story of Entropy : Zero 2 differs greatly now to what it was in 2018. The original story took place after the events of Half-Life 2 Episode 2. Players took on the role of Bad Cop once again, tasked with returning to City 10 to detonate Pillar 10, in an attempt to create another portal to the Combine Overworld. Players would wake up in a fragment of the Citadel in a ruined City 17, and would have to make their way to Wallace Breen's remains to collect an arming key. City 10 was to be a "warped and distorted nightmare" of temporal anomalies, due to the stasis event triggered at the end of Entropy : Zero. Technical limitations at the time prevented progression, and so the narrative was re-written to better suit the available resources.
As of July 2023, several new features are being worked on by the Entropy : Zero 2 team. These features may or may not be employed in potential future installments of the Entropy : Zero 2 canon. Breadman and the team are still close-knit. They communicate daily and are considering options for a potential continuation of the series.

In November 2018 a new story had been drafted and work started on the mod proper. The new narrative has since persisted, but has remained flexible throughout development.

Breadman would produce the maps to the highest possible standard, as to 'front-load' the polishing work that would come later. At times, 1upD and Blixibon developed maps to fill in gaps and further advance the game's production. This process was followed for around three years until the team reached the game's story conclusion. During this initial production process, all features were decided and created as and when they were required. The story was kept flexible throughout, was mostly written chronologically alongside map creation, and was adjusted several times retroactively. Chapter Zero was built and added to the game a year before release. For a period of around two years, the team continually released builds to testers and responded to feedback. A final lighting pass was conducted by Trivvy prior to release.
