Template talk:Shortcut

This is the discussion page of Template:Shortcut. To add a comment, use the Edit button near the headline of the appropriate section. To create a new section, you can use the Add topic button at the top of this page.
Comments on talk pages should be signed with "~~~~", which will be converted into your signature and a timestamp.

(using Template:Message)  Is used to put a little box to the right, displaying a shortcut title to a redirect page to that article.

I'm questioning the usefulness of this template: This calls for a certain page to be accessed so many times a day that one would find it worth while to memorize a shortcut name for it and time conserving to use it. --Andreasen (talk) 13:57, 19 Apr 2006 (PDT) (UTC)

Idk, I'm inclined to agree with post from a couple decades ago when in regards usefulness for non-template pages; the shortcuts just aren't worth memorizing. With templates though, it's certainly faster to type ex. {{dods|2}} than {{Day of Defeat: Source|2}}.

I would also argue that if we are to use a template 99% of the times via a shortcut it shouldn't be a shortcut but simply dods being the actual template --Nescius (talk) 15:04, 22 September 2024 (PDT)
