Image gallery

Hmm looks like I am not able to get the gallery to work properly

I am trying to get all 5 images in one row according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Gallery_tag --Peter [AGHL] 12:36, 5 Feb 2008 (PST)

I was trying to use the syntax suggested on that wikipedia site, but it won't work ... seems as though the VDC wiki doesn't support it. I believe this wiki is not running the most recent version of the Media Wiki software, so perhaps only if it were updated would we be able to use this "extended gallery syntax"... Other articles (here on the VDC) also don't use any extended syntax. Guess there's no way around it, at least until (if) the software is updated...
Another note: I believe it's not a good policy to overdo the {{clr}} template, or in any case using too much HTML syntax (for example, that same template consists of a bit of HTML code) in wikipedia articles. I don't really know why, but that's what I keep reading. There's no problem in using it sparingly, or in situations such as these:
"Here is some text on paragraph 1!"
[[File:this_is_an_image.jpg|thumb|right|100px]] {{clr}}
"Here is some more text, now on paragraph 2!"

By using the {{clr}} template this way, you keep paragraph 2 away from paragraph 1. In other words, paragraph 2 will only appear after the end of the image, (horizontally) under it. Experiment with it :) --Etset 14:47, 5 Feb 2008 (PST)

Handles

what differenc does the lever do instead of pushbar? is it one of those funny non-round knobs? --JeffMOD 15:02, 9 Apr 2008 (PDT)

Well, Lever is the regular doorknob style, and Pushbar is the style for those "pushable" doors. (apologies if you don't understand me) --Nathaniel 22:25, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
