Category talk:Level Design Tutorials
What do people think about the idea of adding Basic, Intermediate and Advanced sub categories to this area, in order to create a clearer divide between what's easy, what's challenging and what's difficult? `zozart .chat @ 05:26, 21 Jan 2006 (PST)
- Oh, just to elaborate further, things like Creating a Room or Creating a Door would be basic. Things like moving water or blowout doors would fit into intermediate, while the really tricky stuff like recreating the Half-Life 2 intro would be advanced. `zozart .chat @ 05:30, 21 Jan 2006 (PST)
- That's ok with me, just make sure they're called "Basic Level Design" or whatnot, so when it shows up on the page it doesn't just say "Basic" as a category. --Charron 07:09, 21 Jan 2006 (PST)
merge
Agreeing with merge proposal. The categories don't really have a significant difference. Pinsplash (talk) 07:34, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- Perhaps something that makes Level Design and Level Design Tutorials distinct is that not all articles related to Level Design have to be tutorials. --Mandrew (talk) 01:26, 27 April 2022 (PDT)
- I'm agreeing with the merge, because while Mandrew makes a fair point, I don't think there's a functional difference. if you want to learn how to do something specific, you'll most likely be searching for that, not messing with tutorials in general. if you want to learn level design in general, there's minimal reason to separate the tutorials from the design theory articles. I think the times when the distinction is meaningful are pretty rare. Kestrelguy (talk) 20:47, 13 May 2022 (PDT)
- Actually, you're right. I could try to remove the Level Design Tutorials Category from pages that have it and replace it with Level Design. Then, this page can just be deleted because I'm not sure if you can "merge" categories like you can do with normal pages. --Mandrew (talk) 23:55, 15 May 2022 (PDT)
