Afraid of Monsters is a psychological horror mod for the 
Half-Life,and is the predecessor to 
Cry of Fear created by ruMpel.
Story
David Leatherhoff, the 
protagonist of the game, is addicted to a new painkiller drug. To get rid of his addiction, he visits a hospital. However in the bathroom he finds another package of these pills, and he can't resist taking them. After this strange things happen, David isn't sure if it's a drug vision or reality.
Director's Cut

The Director's Cut version of Afraid of Monsters is a re-released version of the game with extras that range from enhanced visuals to new endings for the game.
