Barney Calhoun
A former security guard from Black Mesa who managed to escape from the incident along with a couple of scientists[1][2]. After the invasion his skills came in handy working for the Combine as a Civil Protection unit, while secretly aiding the survivors of Black Mesa. After the return of Freeman and the revolt that followed he openly betrayed the Combine, fought alongside Gordon, and lead the resistance in combat.
