The Material Editor in Valve engines is a software that simplifies the process of creating materials by providing a user-friendly interface.
A list of the Material Editors available on the wiki:
- Source VMT Editor — The original Material Editor created by Valve that runs in the Source engine.
Material Editor — The Source 2 Material Editor, created by Valve and provided in the Workshop Tools.- VMT Editor — An unofficial Material Editor for the Source engine, provided as software independent of the engine.
VTFEdit — An unofficial Texture and Material Editor for the Source engine, provided as software independent of the engine.
