Hunt Down the Freeman (HDTF) is an infamous 2018 Half-Life fangame running on
Source 2013. It was critically panned due to its numerous bugs, poor design, and the game's developers not being paid. The game features a parkour mechanic, which the player can use to scale pipes, crates, and other large objects. The developers was also accused of using assets from other games (such as Garry's Mod's Steam Workshop) without permission from the original creator.
Hunt Down the Freeman features 33 achievements, with some of them added as a jokes or memes references to anything such as the negative review of the game, for enabling cheats, and much more.
Criticism aside, when it's come to the engine, the game utilizes WebM video for cutscenes (since 2023 beta update), PBR textures, Parallax Corrected Cubemaps, FMOD for audio, and much more.
