==Information Wanted==
== Your user page ==
I couldn't find a "Articles Wanted" page or anything, outside of the help desk section, so I thought I'd just go ahead and ask in my talk page :). I'm wondering if anybody has information about the '''VOX system''' in the original HL/TFC. I was curious as to how much of it is implemented in HL2 and mods. I was wondering about the size of its vocabulary (I just typed it as vocabularity :P) and stuff. Mainly curious... no hurry... any info is appreciated. :Well, at first I couldn't figure out what was causing the problem, and then it kinda grew on me, to the point where I was wondering if I could get the edges to look more like a cast shadow instead of a border. Eventually I just left it alone. If you know how to make it look like a shadow, let me know. Otherwise, just thanks anyway for fixing it :) [[User:Hectate|Hectate]] 09:49, 19 Nov 2007 (PST)
::I previewed multiple times, it looks either too short and too long. Too long still was better :) --[[User:Baliame|Baliame]] 10:48, 19 Nov 2007 (PST)

: Your best bet is probably to search through the old VERC documentation... But I doubt they bothered porting the VOX system over to HL2. http://collective.valve-erc.com/index.php?area=entity --'''[[User:Campaignjunkie|Campaignjunkie]]''' ([[User talk:Campaignjunkie|talk]]) 12:52, 6 Nov 2007 (PST)

Thanks, I look forward to collaborating in the future. Seems we are both on the same level as far as programming goes. I'll throw some help along the way when I can, right now I'm just following other peoples code snipits trying to understand where everything is located code wise and what relies on what as far as the class system is concerned.

~Look forward to hearing from you soon, Mike

uhh so Im off the net for a week or so and the mod's declared dead???  why cant i get into the dev forums??? I'm just grounded for a while... you guys are going to have to fill me in on whats going on... --[[User:FittyYen|FittyYen]] 17:48, 11 Nov 2007 (PST)
*btw do you know where I can go to ask questions about Hammer. I swear I'm having so many strange issues. For example I go to map properties and set up the map to show game title. The game locks up when I try to run it. In half-life 2 and only hl2 hammer editor when I go to view world models in props the whole editor exists on me without a word. ep1 isn't compatible with ep2 and exists just the same way? lol, that was a mouthful.

::FittyYen - I couldn't get in contact with you, and the forums stopped coming up, so I assumed that you had shut them down. Since I couldn't do anything on my own, especially not without a programmer, I considered the mod, at this point was dead. It can be brought back easily, we just need to be able to do something with it. [[User:Hectate|Hectate]] 07:17, 12 Nov 2007 (PST)

== Spam Patrol ==

45 out of the my last 50 edits (before this one) have been spam deletions. It's really flying thick out there. Perhaps it's time that we got this upgraded to a more secure system, because while it doesn't take me but a few seconds to revert it, I'm about to go to bed. And while somebody else is sure to take care of it, it's really annoying at times. I could be making cool mods and levels instead of doing this :). Anyway, good luck to whoever comes after me. Suggestion - tabbed browsing is your friend. You can get a bunch all pulled up and once and just breeze through them. [[User:Hectate|Hectate]] 19:33, 12 Nov 2007 (PST)
:You're doing a good job bro. btw, we're practically neighbors ;-) --[[User:Mark WiseCarver|wisemx]] 06:35, 13 Nov 2007 (PST)
::Thanks man, I've been working hard at it, I hate that crap. You know, I was thinking, we need a custom barnstar for spamfighters on the VDC. We go through so much more of it than any other wiki I've seen. I'm going to think about a design. [[User:Hectate|Hectate]] 06:46, 13 Nov 2007 (PST)

== Links not generating correctly? ==

Why do my links always turn into redlinks for REAL articles. And THEN, when they're clicked on, it takes you to the page + edit box and everything? I've looked repeatedly under preferences, and I cannot find anywhere where this is affecting it. The links themselves are the same as wikipedia, correct? <nowiki>[[My first mod]]</nowiki> - [[My first mod]]. It shouldn't bring up the edit dialog. Is it happening for anybody else?... :P
:Try to capitalize the first letter of each word i.e. <code><nowiki>[[My First Mod]]</nowiki></code>, which will be presented as [[My First Mod]]. --[[User:JurgenKnops|Jurgen Knops]] 10:38, 13 Nov 2007 (PST)

== Editing ==
Whoa dude why all the edits on my stuff, I dont mind the C17 stuff, but not my user page cit's. It's fine but as i would like to know what exactly did you edit?--[[User:MrTwoVideoCards|Gear]] 10:50, 14 Nov 2007 (PST)
:He fixed about 5 spelling/grammar thingies. No biggie. --[[User:Baliame|Baliame]] 10:52, 14 Nov 2007 (PST)
::Okay, just wondering, usually last time i had some edited it, they totally spammed the page out and said things like CSS ROCKS! and whatnot. I later found it it was someone i fired....--[[User:MrTwoVideoCards|Gear]] 10:54, 14 Nov 2007 (PST)
:::I apologize, I didn't mean to alter your user pages and stuff. I've been going over everything on [http://developer.valvesoftware.com/w/index.php?title=Special:Maintenance&subfunction=mispeelings] and trying to get it taken off the list. I'm not trying to spam or touch your work, just performing simple clean-ups. Thanks for understanding. [[User:Hectate|Hectate]] 10:59, 14 Nov 2007 (PST)
::::Sure no problem as it seems you are quite on a roll today so goodluck ;_).--[[User:MrTwoVideoCards|Gear]] 15:23, 14 Nov 2007 (PST)

== American vs. English ==
Why did you feel it necessary to alter all the British English spellings to American English on the Ham and Jam page? Apart from maybe the word "formulae" being mis-spelled, none of the other words were spelt incorrectly, just the British/European way which is neither wrong or against Wiki guidelines. Sorry to go off on one but I get sick to death with our mother-tounge being "corrected" unnecessarily.  -- [[User:Wunderboy|Wunderboy]] 16:12, 14 Nov 2007 (PST)
:Reverted it back, Please respect the type of English the author has written the article in. Only correct the spelling if it's incorrect in any popular type of English. --[[User:Frostbite|Frostbite]] 17:24, 14 Nov 2007 (PST)
::I apologize, it didn't even occur to me that it was the British English spellings on that page. I was going through all the pages that were listed on the maintenance page, and then running over it using Firefox's built in spell-checker and changing the ones that I agreed were wrong. I wasn't focusing too closely on the actual content of the page. In retrospect, if I had, I can tell I would have noticed this. I'll take more care in the future to avoid making this mistake again. Again, I apologize for my error. [[User:Hectate|Hectate]] 04:27, 15 Nov 2007 (PST)
