Template talk:L4D level intro pages
I don't think there is a need to describe something in the table of contents. I'm going to remove that line you added in the TOC back to what it was originally. If you still feel that it's appropriate, feel free to re-add it with an explanation. Thanks! --ThaiGrocer 14:19, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- I haven't mapped for L4D before. I was looking for info on special infected entities, expecting to find an npc_boomer or info_boomer_spawnpoint or whatever, you know, and it took me a good twenty minutes to figure out how you set up spawning. Someone new to L4D is not necessarily going to guess that "NavMesh = spawning". Maybe change it to "Nav Mesh/Spawnpoints" ?Thelonesoldier 22:00, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- "Nav Mesh/Spawnpoints" sounds like a good start. I am a bit worried that may oversimplify what the nav mesh does. On the other hand, it would be a good way to relieve some assumptions made by newcomers on how L4D essentially works before they get into topics like proper nav flow, nav attributes, etc. Also, "spawnpoints" may be confused with the actual spawnpoints that are forced in some cases, info_zombie_spawn and commentary_zombie_spawner. Do you think it would be better to distinguish that with something like "spawning" or "director spawning" instead? That last part may just be a trivial concern since I'm not sure how newcomers will actually react to that entirely. --ThaiGrocer 13:54, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
