Is this really a "tool"?

I wouldn't consider this a "model tool"; isn't it just something that's part of the engine dll? --Stract (talk) 23:19, 11 July 2018 (UTC)

You mean like a engine tool? Something that can be loaded into the engine in tools mode like Foundry or the Particle Editor? --Kidnation (talk) 00:04, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
I mean something part of engine.dll. Is modelbrowser its own application or something? I don't recall seeing a modelbrowser.dll or modelbrowser.exe in the bin folder of any Source game. --Stract (talk) 01:37, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
Ah hold on, I see you added that it's only part of DOI, Dino D-Day, BMS and a few other games. I guess I just haven't seen it before! --Stract (talk) 01:40, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
Yeah... I realized after a while of looking back at the page that "I really should of put some Source games that tool is in", in case people would look for it. Thankfully it is in quite a few newer Source games I've found. And this is what the model viewer looks like if you haven't see it: https://gyazo.com/ff085e9fa8b3e4ae749df58c991ae5ab It also makes a .vdf to save your settings too, although I have no clue why it needs to save anything considering it's just the model viewer from Hammer in a separate executable. --Kidnation (talk) 03:38, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
I downloaded both Dino D-Day and Black Mesa (I own them both on Steam), and I was unable to find modelbrowser.exe (on each game's bin folder). I also opened each game at least once, to see if it would extract the tool, but no, it didn't. Has the tool been removed from these games? Gabrielwoj (talk) 18:11, 14 August 2021 (PDT)
