Talk:Deadline Mission File
Would it be possible to make 2 versus campaigns in the same misson file? I.e. split a 5-level co-op campaign into 2 shorter versus campagins, all within the same addon? Valve stated Crash Course is shorter because the existing versus campaigns are rather long, so it seems like splitting a campaign into two versus campaigns would be a good idea. I would like support for this, if it's not possible yet. :0) -Corion 02:56, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
The following line was taken out in the Dec 3, 2010 Update in the mission files of non-Passing campaigns. Just saving this hear for future reference.
"excludeweapons" "weapon_rifle_m60"

Still required?
Do we really still need this page?
We got one page on how mission files work in general, along with one page listing all official l4d2 missionfiles. I don't see the reason to keep this one, especially because its just another example

I think it is still useful to have around as an example especially since it's for the example campaign from the tutorial on how to make a campaign. Is there any reason you think this should be removed in particular? --Wazanator (talk) 14:57, 16 February 2021 (PST)
The only real reason i have is that it might confuse people seeking help. I have experience with showing people the way through the VDC because it seems to be hard for some.
Partially also because we have three pages about essentially the same thing, which some might have to cross-reference to get the info they want.

- Agreed, flow of the wiki overall needs work. I think if this page was going to be removed though all pages linking to it currently need to be updated so as to not cause additional confusion. I also don't think the page itself needs to be deleted, there are better examples but I think given that this is the thing that ships with the authoring tools and someone is bound to stumble across it and go looking on here it's probably best it at least remain in some form with direction to better examples. My suggestion would be update all pages that link to it and include a single link to this page somewhere for historical reasons with a quick blurb at the top saying there's better examples on XYZ page.

- Could we not just append all this pages contents (or just the important bits) to the L4D2_Mission_Files page and turn this page here into a redirect? All links, or external urls on other websites would eventualyl lead everyone to the main mission file page if we did that.

- I now turned this page into a redirect to L4D2_Mission_Files#Deadline_Mission_files and lifted all data over to that page.
