I think there needs to be some reference to the Glowing Textures article because of how much it talks about light emitting textures and also with that link it should gets its terminology in sync and sue the correct terms rather than ambiguous ones that even leave me wondering what it meant sometimes. I'd do the work myself but none of my machines are HDR capable to test the effects :( to know what I'm talking about. --Angry Beaver 14:01, 16 Sep 2007 (PDT)
Alrighty thats fine, besides this page is still welcome to any more information!--Gear 14:14, 16 Sep 2007 (PDT)

"A few props now have been able to reflect and even cast light for an added effect. Many of them now don't even require lights any more to give off an effect that they are on. Now using HDR the light models glow and require less light entity's. Meaning neither env_sprite nor regular light entities are required anymore."
Can someone draw up a list of these props? I'm not too sure which ones do what now that I've read this. --Darthkillyou 19:39, 6 Apr 2008 (PDT)

Any Light model with a 'On' Skin, they automatically use HDR and glow due to HDR, they do NOT however cast light, or make the lighting brighter, they just give a better appear so use env_sprites still.--Gear 03:20, 7 Apr 2008 (PDT)
