um...thank you beaver. about the logo though. it's supposed to be vague and strange. or at least, that's the answer we want you to think...no, i'm just kidding. in reality, it's just a freaky decal of the g-man that i made, with the slogan "big brother is watching you." i just ran through an interlace filter and a motion blur filter in core image fun house. it's all i could think of right now; i'm very pressed for time nowadays. but i'm progressing, slowly but surely. me and goldenepidemic are making progress. but, if there's a stage before alpha, that's the one we're on. You know that london shot isn't very london. for the strete to be cobbled it would need to be a much older thinner street. and on top of that theres a good chance the buildings would be obviously victorian in design. :) jsut incase you wanna make it feel more real --Angry Beaver 08:47, 5 Nov 2006 (PST)

thank you again for your comments beaver. as you can see from the caption, this is a very early test of the level. hopefully we will have a more decent looking level by the time we have a full version, but for right now the most important thing to work on is the overall gameplay for the entire mod. thank you for your architectural comments, though. we'll be sure to implement them into the final game. I think you can take a look at some london pictures on the net. Thats always a good idea. When creating some of the enviroments for CIty 17 MOD we used tons of pictures as reference to get a better idea of the way things should really look. Mainly alot of Germany pictures. Also some Eastern Europe areas. Thats not to say to copie all the things you see but its like writing a summary, instead of writing the story again in the author's words write it in your own words. Mix some things around. So for instance if theres two buildings that are gray then make one blue and add some balconys also any other type of structer. Mod Subject Debate

the development team for 1984 (me and goldenepidemic) is debating about what the mod's subject should be. i think that it should be following winston smith's footsteps through the novel (e.g. copying the novel word for word). but goldenepidemic thinks that we should follow the war between eastasia and oceania. what do you guys think? Im currently trying to make a war game sorta but thats not say i wouldnt like a good interactive story and what better with the source enigine. You know if you think about it you can truly make a good phyics puzzle game while following Winston. In this case pushing levers to activate things and such. Follow the war dude, you know how hard it is to make a computer game follow a linear plot and not being able to shoot anyone? And making winston be able to shoot people kinda destroys the plot. If I remember correctly winston didn't kill anyone in the book.--Deadity 00:44, 4 Nov 2006 (PST)
