Talk:SkyLabs
Interesting, but you do realize your relying on getting the code for the portal gun something which valve has not guaranteed and by observing precedents may not happen. We never got the code for CSS and DODS, I doubt we'll ever get code for TF2, I know we'll get it for EP2, but as for Portal... Its up in the air (pun intended). --Angry Beaver 13:57, 8 Dec 2007 (PST)
- Some of the TF code has always been in the SE SDK code. That may be a hint. --wisemx 17:40, 8 Dec 2007 (PST)
- Hmm, I haven't tought about that yet. Well, that can't be said for sure yet anyway, since the modification source code for the Orange Box isn't yet avaible via the SDK. For the time being, I took the server.dll and client.dll directly from the game Portal. In the worst case, I will have to wait for Episode Three, and see if that one features the Portal Gun (Borealis, huh). If so, I can get the code from there. And if I can't get the code for the Portal Gun at all, then I will skip it or write it myself (don't see that happening tough). It's not the gameplay element the whole mod is gonna be built upon.--Ricotez 03:47, 9 Dec 2007 (PST)
City 44 --> 34
Today I found out that the name City 44 is in use already, namely by Adam Foster and his MINERVA-mod. I apologise, Adam, I didn't knew that! Think I'll change the number to 34.--Ricotez 10:32, 10 Dec 2007 (PST)
Editing the page
I've edited the page of SkyLabs to provide a more basic idea of the mod. Nothing new has been added, but I removed some of the features since most of them are pipe dreams. The next time any new features will be announced, they will have left the stage of idea. Note that the features that I removed, aren't immediately skipped of the mod itself. I only don't want to make false promises. Oh yeah, the name of the city has changed again, and hopefully permanent this time, to City 36. --Ricotez 10:06, 15 Jan 2008 (PST)
