Shouldn't this be a category?

A good way to organise this might be to have a set of primary categories:

  • office
  • industrial
  • laboratory
  • building
  • plants
  • rocks
  • pipes
  • debris
  • skybox, urban
  • skybox, industrial
  • skybox, nature
  • ... and so on

Rather than the rather arbitrary "c17" etc. groupings as they currently appear in the models dir. The models from various sources (even 3rd party ones?) could appear in a more useful category.

Categorized Prop Gallery archives already exist, directory names are not in English, though. HL2 props are done by Edomae, CSS by hermione, both members of C-SEC, (the only) HL2 MOD community in Japan. Edomae did make English version and put it on Filefarm or somewhere, but it seems it's gone.

If you don't mind seeing Japanese(all image file names are in English showing prop names, so I assume it's OK for English speakers) download them from C-SEC: ダウンロード?る is the dl link.

With the latest SDK update you can search for models by name and see them directly in 3D. In my opinion, such a gallery doesn't make sense (anymore). -Vaarscha

Re-naming

This tutorial does only deals with the w_ models, mostly weapons; opposed to the v_ (view) models. Maybe a rename could clarify this?! Suggestions? -Vaarscha
