Do we really need a Third Party Tools category, when we already have the catch-all Tools? I don't think it matters whether it's 3rd party or not so long as you can get them. --Tom Edwards 06:14, 29 Jun 2005 (PDT)

i must disagree, i think the 3rd party tools is a very good idea, its more clear this way.

btw, i think making it a subcategory is a bad idea. --Deathz0rz 06:21, 29 Jun 2005 (PDT)

It's clearer which is which, but that's not very important and means that the category is split down the middle into two pages. It's clear enough from each article if it's 3rd party or not. --Tom Edwards 06:28, 29 Jun 2005 (PDT)

maybe we should call a vote of some sort? --Deathz0rz 06:34, 29 Jun 2005 (PDT)

I'd rather not have the separate category for the reasons mentioned above, but if we do, I agree that it shouldn't be a subcategory of anything. --mungo

I'm not sure where it should go, but I do think we need a "third party tool" section, to prevent newbies asking valve things about GCFScape for example. --Zevensoft

Perhaps what really should be removed is the original Tools category, which really just lists the SDK programs that are parts of other categories already.-mungo

I couldn't agree more, the tools that come with steam should be in the correct sections. -Zevensoft

Can I clear all this talk from my user page? It seems kinda irrelevent being here :)

Sure, and while you're adding mod descriptions, dont forget the Half-Life and Half-Life 2 templates you added so nicely :P
