Template:Game name (2008) ist kooperativer Multiplayer-Survival-Horror, bei dem vier spielbare oder KI-gesteuerte Überlebende gegen Horden von aggressiven „Infizierten“ antreten – den Opfern einer apokalyptischen Seuche.
Das Ziel der Überlebenden ist es, sich gegenseitig zu helfen, durch verschiedene Szenarien in Sicherheit zu kommen. Die Infizierten werden von einer KI gesteuert, die den Schwierigkeitsgrad und die Stimmung je nach Fortschritt und Situation der Spieler dynamisch ausgleicht. In einem alternativen Spielmodus können menschliche Spieler bis zu vier mutierte Spezialinfizierte mit besonderen Fähigkeiten kontrollieren und zusammenarbeiten, um die Überlebenden-Spieler zu stoppen.
