Revision as of 02:58, 15 September 2006

On 07 August 2006 the author of the mod suddenly suffered a mechanical harddrive failure that destroyed the mod and thoroughly stopped all development of it. - For the love of *beep*, always remember to MAKE BACKUPS! Seriously. This convenient hard-disk-failure excuse seems to affect a vast selection of people working on mods, and if it's true, then modders must work with some ridiculously unreliable hardware.

The data on my laptop is copied on to two external hard disks (currently in two different countries); important stuff is saved on to CD, uploaded somewhere safe or copied to my desktop computer or home 'server'. Then with MINERVA, the source files for the first two maps are currently residing on perhaps hundreds of thousands of computers worldwide. Now you understand why I included the VMFs. ;-) —Cargo Cult (info, talk) 02:47, 15 Sep 2006 (PDT)
