This Mod is about time travel (or chronoportation). While travelling in time, one can create different kind of anachronisms, paradoxes, etc. For instance, what would happen if you would bring an object from the future into the past and destroy the earlier version of this object in the past, preventing yourself in this way bringing this object from the future? Similar kind of anachronism paradoxes arise in CHRONOPORT.

I have implemented in CHRONOPORT a mathematical model which describes some of anachronism phenomena caused by travel in time. In the first episode I have considered a simplified situation, when for the time travel only two days are accessible. You can jump from Monday to Tuesday and from Tuesday to Monday exactly on 24 hours. In this way, you cannot return to the same moment of time of a day, you cannot meet yourself, but from one day you can influence either the past or the future day.

The game is implemented as a Mod for Portal and Half-Life 2. The action happens in Portal-like settings in some very isolated place, so that the time-line variations would not influence much the rest of the world. As a fateful researcher, your task will be to prove experimentally the existence of time-line variation and to establish the basic time-line variation rules.
In this short episode the player will face a puzzle involving a weighted cube and buttons. This puzzle can be solved only by changing the time-line. In this Mod I would like just to demonstrate the potential of the idea of time-travel for the first-person shooter/adventure/puzzle games. Travel in time should create the feeling of more dimensions and of existence of multiple variations for the same Universe. I think that the concept of direct simulation of travel in time (without any prescribed plot for all possible time-lines) should create a great experience during the play.

There is no shooting in the first episode of this Mod, just puzzles. The first episode is of 10-15 minutes completion. But, of course, after completing the task it is possible to experiment more in order to discover some phenomena which was not exploited in the objective of the first episode.

Overview

This Mod is about time travel (or chronoportation). While traveling in time, one can create different kinds of anachronysms, paradoxes, etc. It was implemented in CHRONOPORT a mathematical model which describes some of anachronism phenomenas caused by travel in time. The action happens in Portal-like settings in some very isolated place, so that the time-line variations would not influence much the rest of the world. In this Mod I would like to demonstrate the potential of the idea of time-travel for the first-person shooter/adventure/puzzle games. Travel in time should create the feeling of more dimensions and of existence of multiple variations for the same Universe.

EPISODE 1 - THE HYPOTHESIS

In this short episode the player will face a puzzle involving a weighted cube and buttons. This puzzle can be solved only by changing the time-line. As a fathefull researcher, the player's task will be to prove experimentally the existence of time-line variation and to establish the basic time-line variation rules.
