This is to be a continuation to the tutorials from [[Your_First_Half-Life_2:_Deathmatch_Room|Your First HL2:DM Room]]. The purpose of these tutorials is to introduce you to the rest of the information on the wiki and finish teaching you all the basics of using [[Hammer]] to a high enough level that you can achive any effect or learn how on your own. The tutorials assume your familiar with the first room tutorials and will more often link to articles that explain features rather than explain them again. If you evere wondered things like "how entities work" or "how to make a corridor" these will be the tutorials for you.
The [[Your First Map|beginner tutorials]] teach how to create, compile, and play a map. They give you the right to say "I can map", but being able to map is like being able to write. The ability to write denotes nothing about the quality of your written works, there reaches a point where you become a writter someone who can take ideas in thier head and put it into written word. So what takes someone from "someone who can write" to a full blown writer? The knowledge of the tools and the knowledge of the trade all mixed together with a solid dose of art. Knowing how to use grammer how to progress an idea, setting tone and feeling, writing can be very technical and without that technical knowledge all the art in world cannot save the work as the meaning is lost. So you can map, but you want to be a level designer right? Someone who can take ideas in thier head and put it into a well constructed level, you want the knowlede of the trade and the tools right? This is what the intermediate tutorials are for, while they cannot help with the art of level design they can teach you all the technical know how to apply your ideas and develop the art.
