This article reviews and compares several map decompilers for the GoldSrc engine. Will introduce 5 decompilers:
- Decompiler 005
- WinBSPC
- BSP2MAP
- Unified SDK Map Decompiler
- MBSPC
Map converters such as Crafy and BSPViewer will not be introduced because they are not efficient in producing a quality source file.
4 maps were chosen for decompilation:
- bb_chp1_heavensgate from Brain Bread
- op4ctf_power from Opposing Force
- cz_silo02 from Counter-Strike: Condition Zero Deleted Scenes.
- rock2 from Team Fortress: Classic
