: "The Alyxgun has its own unique ammo type." - I assume that since there would be no point in creating ammo boxes for it since Alyx's version has infinite ammo, then they never made one. If you need more ammo you'll either have to script something to a generic ammo-ey thing or just drop more copies of this gun.
