Title: Bully: Source

Engine: Source Engine (Orange Box).

Aim: Initially this was a project for the BT Young Scientist Exhibition in Dublin, Ireland. The project theme itself was to create a game that would combat or teach its players (students) what to do in bullying situations. The game won 3rd place in the Intermediate Technology Section of the exhibition.

Maps:

Title: UAC: Reincarnation

Engine: Doom 3 Engine

Aim: To expand my knowledge outside of Hammer and learn other Level Editing Software. Description: Despite the rather over-used name, this was actually one of my first maps I had created during my endeavour into Radiant. When I started this map pack some two years ago, I started the map in the hope of scaring the players for a short time, and as it was Doom 3 I felt this was perfect. The maps themselves are extremely short, and overall I’ve had mixed reactions from it some people saying that it was very enjoyable for a first full map in Doom3EDIT, and others were saying that it was terrible due to the lack of play.

Overall I had learned how Radiant works and how the Doom 3 engine handles it’s maps, I learned how to (with some basic coding) to create the PDA’s used to show the player the storyline. And to modify GUI Screens so they fit the storyline better.

Title: Outbreak: Condemned.

Engine: Source Engine (Half-Life 2: Episode Two).

Development Time: 2008 - Present.

Position on team: Lead Level Designer.

Position Description: As Lead Level designer for Outbreak: Condemned it was my job to work on larger level designs as well as assist and maintain the other level designers and their work.

Description: Outbreak: Condemned is based upon the popular gaming series Resident Evil from Capcom. Using the Source engine from Valve we aim to make a fresh survival horror experience in a first person perspective while retaining the horror elements from the old Resident Evil series. This is a Total-Conversion Modification.

Title: Merrion Lake Warehouse

Development Time: November 2009 - Present

Release date: Feburary 2010.

Aim: Initially this started off as a complex map to see how long it would take me to create a warehouse in Microbrush 2 (See links below) in comparison to Hammer. The map grew over time, and eventually became a sort of, 'mini-mod'. The overall style of the mod is an open map, allowing the player to have full exploration in a 'tomb-raider' like experience.

Specs: 2v2 Half-Life 2 Deathmatch map

Release date: January 2010.

Aim: I had found after developing Singleplayer levels for so long that I neglected to create any Multiplayer maps. This was a test for me to see if I could create an optimized interesting map for a small 2v2 match.

Aim: A simple map to recreate a screenshot I found of Half-Life 1. This was only a test to see what I could accomplish in the four days I attempted it.
