Currently this map is under development.
- Map Name: cp_lumbermill
- Map Style: Capture point map like cp_granary.
- Map Setting: Night time, use of forest setting.
- Map Goals: Offer two completely independently themed sides while keeping both sides even.
Map Progress
December 24th
Development officially starts. Middle CP created and roughly textured.
Map Theory
I have a couple of ideas I'd like to try out with this map. All ideas I hope to put down hence forth and promote their use in other maps in the future.
- Unlike cp_granary, The layout will not have a straight line of CPs (see below graph)
- Unlike cp_granary, not only will the middle CP be uncapped. Only the closest CP's to the spawnroom will be capped, thus allowing for the choice to send ahead a party to secure the middle CP in order to make a quick capture but dividing up the teams attention at the same time.
- Red's side will be inspired by rustic lumber mills. Blu's will be an industrial paper mill. Both will have relatively different layouts and ascetics to keep the map looking fresh and requiring players to be cognasant of which team they're on.
- Night time, lowers visibilty and promotes alternate roots to stay within blind spots.
