Kyrikus, of the Shadows Over Chernobyl reporting! I've always tended to be a bit over the top in my enthusiasm. It's nice to have found a place where I can actually learn something of the trade I hope to always be a part of.
My Experience
I've been messing around with HTML code for about the past five or so years, and I'm currently going to Appalachian State, learning to code in Java. I've also played around with this SDK for pretty much the past two years.
I know next to nothing about modeling or texturing. I've built a few MP maps for HL2:DM, and my friends and I have had quite a bit of fun on them. Sadly, I've never uploaded any of them to the nets.
Previous Modding Work
I've modded extensively for Oblivion, including expanding the popular Open Cities mod to include the Imperial City. I have also already modded a handful of things for Fallout 3, including altering .dds files, changing the mouse cursor, the crosshairs, and also to try and figure out a way to change the look and feel of the rest of the HUD.
With the Source engine, on the other hand, I've done precious little outside of mapping for HL2:DM. The game I'm thinking of building will require its own unique set of weaponry. I will also need to develop an inventory system, as well as build a burgeoning city or group of small cities to create the proper atmosphere.
My Current Work
I'm actually in the process of starting to build my own game. I hope to package and sell it with its own engine, but for now, the Source engine is perfect. Entitled "Unbridled Reach," I hope that I will be able to get at least two games out of the main storyline. All I know is that it's too much story for one game.
Even so, I'm working on getting a playable version of the city of Pripyat, the main locale of the first few levels of the game, by the end of this year. Any help will be greatly appreciated, if anyone is interested!
