Template reconversion

The {{Note}} template already exists. Are we reinventing the wheel? :) --Etset 04:57, 5 Feb 2008 (PST) PS: That green is a tad strong too ... it should be more mild and non-aggressive, especially because the wiki's background is white! --Etset 05:03, 5 Feb 2008 (PST)

Since the {{Note}} and {{Warning}} templates already exist, I believe this template might not be necessary. However, it gave me the idea of turning it into a "Temporary notice" callout, for situations where either a Note or Warning need to be placed for a short/medium period of time, such as when a feature is broken due to an SDK update, or when a user wishes to temporarily present a solution in a tutorial, while still developing a better/more complete one (without having to conjure a custom "Temporary Sign" on-the-fly)
  • Advantages: slightly different from the Note and Warning templates (a temporary note, with some of the warning's seriousness); articles with temporary notices can be listed in the template's "What links here" page for a quick review and cleanup of no-longer-relevant uses of the template.
  • Disadvantages: another callout which might confuse and disrupt normal usage of the other two (note and warning); would require some oversight to avoid problematic situations;
  • Color: not black (more important than that), not blue/purple (confusion with the normal colors of hyperlinks), not green (probably gives out a passive "this is OK, pay no attention to this" feel to it) and no "aggressive" (read: eye-melting) colors. Red is used for warning, so I though maybe a red-ish orange or a brown-ish red
I'm just trying to make something out of this template, otherwise it can just be deleted since it is not being used: it was originally used in one article here, and later removed here due to complaints about temporary loss of sight (actually, it was simply removed and the warning was re-written to contemplate that new information). Opinions? --Etset 08:36, 6 Feb 2008 (PST)
