Talk:Viewmodel

Neat info; I never looked closely at the viewmodels and I never knew they were distorted (except for the .357 getting wider away from the player... furiously hate that model...) Thelonesoldier 03:27, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

Why are the models distorted?

Why do they have to distort the models? For example elongation would make the gun look longer at sideways views, why are the models distorted or even rendered at 54 fov? Why can't they at least use a minimum of 75 since that is the lowest viewing FOV you can get in game? It would be more realistic to the rest of the in game world. They're distorted to look good from the only angle that they'll ever be seen from, since you'd never see a viewmodel from the side under normal conditions. RandomCatDude (talk)
TF2 has a console command that makes the viewmodels into the world models. It doesn't look good. Loudslappingsounds (talk) 09:09, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
Games now do the whole inspect and melee stuff with guns/skins so they wouldn’t distort anymore. Very cool to see Bludgeon was planned, will be adding it to my mod. Ninjaofsauce (talk) 16:01, 12 November 2024 (PST)
