If you have Photoshop, just install the VTF plugin. You can edit your texture or decal or whatever, and save it directly as a VTF file without the lame targa middleman stage. soooooo much easier than that stupid vtex tool. Any way to create HDR textures from PFMs without mips?

Does anyone know of a way to create HDR textures without generating mips for them in the VTF? As mentioned on the page, VTEX’s nomip option doesn’t actually stop the program from generating the mips and saving them in the VTF, which can become a problem when textures are as large as HDR textures can get (RGBA16161616f is 2.66 MB @ 512x512 px w| mips).

VTFEdit can’t be used as it only supports opening HDR textures, not importing them.
